Upstate Brewery Wins New York Best Burger Competition

The judges have spoken and a new statewide burger champ has been crowned by the New York Beef Council.

The perfect burger is an art form. It can be wildly creative with diverse toppings and condiments. A burger can also be just as enjoyable when executed with perfect simplicity. A perfectly cooked patty, some cheddar cheese, and a great bun are all it takes to make a tasty burger.

Here in the Capital Region, we have a long list of top-flight burger joints like Illusive in Rensselaer, Build-A-Burger in Colonie, and Man of Kent in Hoosick Falls. But you will have to head to Columbia County to taste the stunning burger creation that just won the New York State Beef Council's annual best burger competition.

Chatham Brewing's 'Loaded Brewery Burger' Named Best In New York

The New York Beef Council has announced that Chatham Brewing's 'Loaded Brewery Burger' is the winner of their annual New York Best Burger Competition for 2024.

The Beef Council says the Chatham Brewing winning burger, pictured above, "..emerged as the clear favorite among judges and consumers, captivating taste buds with its tantalizing flavors and innovative presentation. The Loaded Brewery Burger is made on a toasted sweet roll with a locally raised beef burger, white cheddar Mac n Cheese, applewood bacon, and molasses BBQ." Just reading that description and drooling over that photo above has me ready to drive down to Chatham right now to try this burger work of art!

Chatham Brewing posted to their Facebook page earlier today congratulating the burger's creator, Chef Zak, and the kitchen staff on an "amazing achievement" and revealed the key secret ingredient for the Loaded Burger is angus beef from Trowbridge Farms in Ghent.

The beef council says a panel of 19 judges reviewed top-tier burgers from throughout New York before determining Chatham Brewing as 2024's best burger winner.
